Ed Montgomery, writer, director, producer, editor, composer Along with film and video making, Ed Montgomery is also a composer, and the director of Context Studios in Brooklyn. The Singing Biologist is his first feature film. He is co-producer of the TV arts program, “The Edge of Brooklyn", with Ravi Coltrane.” He has written and performed numerous musical theater works, including “The History of the Universe According to Those Who’ve Had to Live It,” and the opera, “Congo New York.” He composed the score for “Turf,” a radio play by Robbie McCauley, ‘which won the A.I.R. award for best arts program in Boston radio for 1996.

Imani Coppola, as the character Rose, and composer Imani Coppola is a singer, composer, and actress, who first achieved international attention with her CD “Chupacabra,” on the Columbia label. Songs from “Chupacabra” have been used on the soundtrack for “Speed”, and other films. “The Singing Biologist” is her debut film appearance.

She has been a principal performer on Broadway in “Cabaret,” and many other musicals. She is a singer-songwriter and performs frequently in NYC, solo and with her band, with which she recorded the CD “Phoenix.”
